THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND To Play Hometown Gig With KING'S X
March 19, 2006THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND will play a one-off show with KING'S X on April 24 in at the Red Room in Vancouver, British Columbia. The bands will play two full sets with no opening acts. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
Devin is back in studio with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD recording the follow-up to last year's "Alien". The new songs were mostly written before the THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND went on tour with OPETH in February. Devin provided demos to the SYL bandmembers to rehearse before he left and the group is now in the studio working on the CD, which is expected sometime this summer/fall via Century Media Records. STRAPPING YOUNG LAD has also secured a second-stage slot at this year's Ozzfest, which is scheduled to kick off July 1 in San Francisco, California.
As previously reported, THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND's video for "Vampira", the first single off the group's "Synchestra" album, has been posted online at this location.
"Synchestra" was released in January via InsideOut Music. A special-edition package of the album includes a bonus DVD of the band performing a "best-of" set live in the studio.
